Welcome to the Betton Grange Society website where you will find information about the Ex Great Western ‘Grange’ Class locomotive and our project to build No. 6880 – the 81st ‘Grange’ 

 

From a Class of 80 locomotives no ‘Granges’ survived the cutters torch, a glaring ommission in the ranks of preserved locomotives. With your help we can fill this gap.

No. 6880 is under construction at the Llangollen Railway’s workshops and can be seen by arrangement by contacting us through this website.

Find out how the ‘Grange’ class locomotives became the ‘engineman’s engine‘, why we have chosen to build Betton Grange, and most importantly, how you can help us to do it.
