TABRON Colliery

They say a layout is never really finished but it would help if I could get started.

Why is it that just when you really get going working on your layout something gets in the way and holds you up, I mean really holds you up.

Once again I am back on track (please excuse the pun), but have decided to change things round quite a bit. As these first images show I have been trying various ideas for the new design.

This  was the area that I was extending to the side as I finished my previous article.

As I have said I can now get back to the layout, this is panoramic view of the alterations.

I have moved the colliery and not quite sure yet what I want to do, so I am trying various ideas to help me choose.

Looking at ideas for the alterations to farmyard and marshalling yard. As all modellers stay, "it's work in progress".

Theis loco is an Atlas 9633ATL, Norfolk Southern (horsehead) 8-40C road number, 8742. .

Some further ideas for the farmyard and approach road.

This loco is a Bachmann DCC GP40, road no.3018 'Atlas', switcher (known as shunters in the U.K)

Background development, the start of the new area for the farmyard and the marshalling yard.

Further ideas for the farmyard area.

Showing alterations started on the farm and the road

This is the start of the new coal yard.

Construction at the the back scene of coal yard.

Backscene in place behind the coal yard.

Back scene almost completed with static grass.

This a panoramic view of the layout as it is now.

Must press on.  The road  to farm, stone walls made from cat litter, so ask MEOW how I made it.  "OK how?"  Right, thanks for asking, it is a mixture of cat litter (unused of course)  PVA glue, plaster (powder) and water.

The road to the farm is  completed I have used sand to give the road texture.

In this picture I am starting to develop the new area for the colliery.
